Focus and facts on the 3Rs Focus on the 3Rs is a digital letter to your inbox, where we go deeper into the three different Rs. We aim to share good examples from Swedish organisations and we highlight research within the 3Rs. Subscribe on Focus on the 3Rs Focus on the 3Rs Focus on the 3Rs is a digital letter where we focus on the 3Rs as a complement to our news and articles at the website. Every issue has a special theme, where we share good examples and present new research and development. Focus on the 3Rs is aimed to researchers, staff at an animal facility or others who encounter animals in research or animal-free research. Focus on the 3Rs: Replacement of animal experiments (December 2023) Focus on the 3Rs: Reduction of animals used in research (October 2023) Focus on the 3Rs: Animal technicians in research (June 2023) Focus on the 3Rs: Replacement (March 2023) 2022 editions Focus on the 3Rs: 5 years with the 3Rs Center (December 2022) Focus on the 3Rs: Research and practice (October 2022) Focus on the 3Rs: Education and training (June 2022) Focus on the 3Rs: Validation of new methods (March 2022) If you seek editions from 2021 and earlier, please contact us at the 3Rs Center. Close Films We produce short pedagogic films about how different models can be used to replace and reduce animal experimentation. We have made a general film about replacement of animal experimentation: Cell models to replace animal experiments In this film we explain how advanced cell models are used to replace and reduce animal experimentation: Computer models to replace animal experiments Two films are about computer models and how they can be used to replace and reduce animal testing. The second film explains how to trust the result from these kind of models when we use them to replace and reduce animal experimentation. Impact stories of replacement We have met Maria Karlgren in the lab at Uppsala University. She explains how her research group has replaced certain animal experiments in their drug delivery studies: We have also recorded Henrik Ahlenius and his research group at Lund Stem Cell Center, Lund University. They have developed a stem cell-based model to replace mice in their research on neurological diseases: Articles Models to gain knowledge about brain diseases: Ivan Nalvarte, Karolinska Institutet Health, breeding and experiment descriptions: Umeå University Zebrafish welfare in laboratories: Lynne Sneddon University of Gothenburg and Svante Winberg Uppsala University Animal-free cell cultures for better research: Stina Oredsson Lund University To reflect on my choice of methods: Joëlle Rüegg Uppsala University Contact us Contact us at the Swedish 3Rs Center if you want to know more or if you have any questions. 3Rcenter@jordbruksverket.se Hjälpte informationen på den här sidan dig?
