Webinar: Development and validation of test methods

The Swedish 3Rs Center would like to invite you to a lunch webinar about the importance of development and validation of test methods to enhance the quality in research and to grow the Swedish service lab sector.

When: Thursday May 30th, 12:00-13:00 CET.

Where: Zoom (registered participants will receive a zoom-link via email before the webinar)

We have invited Dr Kristina Fant, who has long experience in the area of validation of methods for regulatory purposes and is a co-author of the OECD guidance document Good In Vitro Method Practices (GIVIMP).

Dr Fant is now contributing as an expert to the Swedish Chemicals Agency in the ongoing revision of the OECD guidance document on validation, GD 34, within the OECD Test Guidelines Programme.

In this webinar Dr. Kristina Fant will focus on:

  • a need for modern in vitro test methods to assess the safety of chemicals and materials;
  • how the validation sector has a potential to grow and generate business in Sweden (case study example);
  • concepts of test method validation, in-house validation and formal regulatory validation;
  • guidance for performing in vitro research as well as the new collection of resources at the Swedish 3Rs Center.

New resources at the Swedish 3Rs Center

The Swedish 3Rs Centre has made an inventory of online resources for development, evaluation and formal validation of in vitro methods and published it on our webpage. It is a support for anyone who is about to validate a method.

Target group

The webinar is directed towards researchers, service lab sector, industry, government agencies and others with an interest in validation of test methods and their potential. We look forward to meeting you at this lunch webinar!

National network

In 2019 we instated a national network for researchers and government agencies with an interest in animal-free methods for research, toxicity screening and regulatory purposes. The network should facilitate contact and exchange of information between researchers and government agencies. When registering for this webinar you will also have the opportunity to join the network.

Please, register by filling in the form before May 28.
