Welcome to a webinar on innovative development of a rodent shelter for post-operative care, as the aim of a CRACK IT Challenge.
The Swedish 3R center invites you to take part in a webinar on innovative development of a rodent shelter. The webinar will be held on November 19 at 12.00–13.00 CET.
During the webinar, Lena William-Olsson, AstraZeneca Gothenburg, and Allen Pearson, Malsen Medical, will tell you about the CRACK IT Challenge and the rodent shelter they are collaborating to develop.
After the presentations, there will be time for questions from the audience.
The British NC3Rs champions innovation in the 3Rs through CRACK IT Challenge competitions. The programme provides an opportunity for industries, SMEs and academia to collaborate on tackling specific challenges.
In CRACK IT Challenge 49: Rodent shelter, AstraZeneca Gothenburg and University of Gothenburg pitched the idea of an easy-to-use shelter for rodents to provide warmth and a means to monitor the animals to improve post-operative care. They found a collaborator in Malsen Medical, and they are now working on the project together.
The webinar is intended for individuals who work with, or are interested in learning more about, rodents as research animals. This includes researchers, animal technicians, members of Animal Welfare Bodies, and veterinarians. It is also relevant for those interested in the NC3Rs CRACK IT Challenges competitions.
