Webinar: Methods to reduce the number of mice in research

Welcome to a webinar focusing on molecular biology-based methods for generating genetically modified mouse models while reducing animal use in research.

The Swedish 3Rs Center invites you to a webinar presenting two molecular biology-based approaches for generating genetically modified mice. Using such methods instead of traditional genetic crossing strategies has the potential to reduce the number of animals used in research.

The webinar will take place on 3 June, 12.00–13.00 CEST.

We are pleased to welcome two researchers from Sweden who will share experiences from their work with molecular biology-based methods for generating genetically modified mice:

  • Emma Andersson, Principal Researcher at Karolinska Institutet, will give a presentation entitled Developing In Utero Nano‑Injection: More Results in Fewer Mice.
  • Andrei Chagin, Professor at Gothenburg University, will give a presentation entitled Reducing Animal Use with One-step CRISPR Mutagenesis: The i-GONAD Method.

After the presentations, there will be time for questions from the audience.

Who Should Attend?

The webinar is intended for anyone interested in molecular biology-based methods for generating genetically modified mice, including researchers as well as representatives of Animal Welfare Bodies and Regional Animal Ethics Committees.
