A new common agricultural policy was adopted in Sweden and the rest of the EU in 2023. The total budget for the strategic plan is approximately SEK 60 billion for the period 2023‑2027.
EU’s new agricultural policy will provide Member States with better opportunities to deal with the challenges facing the food sector and the rural areas, such as climate change, threatened biological diversity and the profitability and competitiveness of businesses. At the same time, Member States shall be able to continue to support farmers in a way that contributes to sustainable and competitive agriculture.
