The EU reference laboratory and science center review and collect animal-free methods. They have published a knowledge base within breast cancer research and respiratory diseases.
There are already many advanced non-animal methods being used for research. However, knowledge about them is scattered across the scientific literature, limiting their diffusion and impact within the scientific community.
EU:s reference laboratory EURL ECVAM compiles non-animal methods in different research areas. Their latest publications deal with animalfree research within breast cancer and respiratory diseases.
EURL ECVAM has reviewed all scientific literature from the last couple of years. A total sum of 935 articles relevant for animal-free methods in breast cancer research have been identified. A common review has been made regarding respiratory diseases, where 300 non-animal models are identified.
