This is the e-services for registration of plant varieties in the Swedish National list of varieties and for registration of Swedish Plant Breeders´Right. In the e-service, you will be able to submit six different types of applications.

This is the application to register a plant variety in the Swedish National List of Varieties. This applies to agricultural plant varieties, vegetable plant varieties, ornamental plant varieties and fruit plant varieties.
The application fee for registration of one agricultural, or vegetable plant variety is 3 000 SEK. There is no application fee for registration of ornamental plant varieties and fruit plant varieties. You must pay the application fee by card in the e-service. If you are unable to pay by card you have to fill in the form Registration of plant variety to the Swedish list of varieties.
You may submit the application to register several varieties at the same time.
If the application concerns a fruit or berry variety that is to be registered as a variety with an officially recognized description and is not to be DUS-tested, you must attach a description of the variety.
If you are an agent of the applicant, you must enclose a letter of attorney.
This is the application to register conservation varieties or a varieties developed for growing under particular conditions. The application fee for registration of one variety is 800 SEK. You must pay the application fee by card in the e-service. If you are unable to pay by card you have to fill in the form.

This is the application to register a Swedish Plant Breeders’ Right.
The application fee for registration of one plant variety is 3 000 SEK. You must pay the application fee by card in the e-service. If you are unable to pay by card you have to fill in the form.
If you are an Agent of the applicant, you must enclose a letter of attorney.
If you have submitted an application to register a plant variety or Plant Breeders’ Right, you may complete the application with the variety denomination if it is missing in your previous application.

This is the application for renewal of the registration period.
The application fee for renewal of the registration period for one plant variety is 2 000 SEK. The fee will be invoiced.

If it concerns a variety in the Swedish variety list, you must also state whether the application applies to a market extension for the plant variety.
If you are an agent of the applicant, you must enclose a letter of attorney.
Check that the variety is not already registered or if someone else has applied for registration of the variety. You can do this in the Swedish variety list.
To log in to the e-service, you need an e‑identification, for example mobile BankID or Freja eID. The e‑identification is personal and linked to your social security number. Contact your bank or Freja to obtain e‑identification.
If you want to log in and do not have e-identification, you can still use the service but not all functions. If you are a foreign applicant or foreign representative and do not have e-identification, you must pay the application fee at the time of application.
The Swedish Agency for Agriculture processes the personal data that you provide in your application for the purposes of permit management, control, statistics, information and for follow-up, evaluation and analysis. The legal basis for processing your personal data is the exercise of authority. The data is processed electronically. The personal data we process about you is shared with other authorities and individuals in accordance with what follows from EU legislation, laws, regulations and international agreements.
