Webinar on the 3Rs in hearing research

The Swedish 3Rs Center invites you to take part in a webinar on the 3Rs in hearing research. The webinar will be held on May 13 at 12.00–13.00 CET.

During the webinar, Professor Barbara Canlon will tell you about her research dedicated to the mechanisms behind injuries to the inner ear and strategies to prevent or treat them. Professor Canlon and her colleagues have developed a refined method to deliver pharmaceuticals into the inner ear. When the method is used in animal experimentation this entails an injection into the cerebrospinal fluid instead of a surgical procedure.

Barbara Canlon is Professor of Hearing Physiology at Karolinska Institutet. In 2023, she was awarded the Grand Prix Scientifique for her contribution to the field of hearing research.

Target audience

The webinar is directed towards those who work with or want to learn more about implementation of the 3Rs in hearing research and delivery of substances into the inner ear, such as researchers, animal welfare bodies and animal ethics committees.
