New work plan adopted
The 3Rs Center's steering group, the National Committee, has now decided on the Center’s work plan for 2025.
The Swedish 3Rs Center is a competence centre for questions related to replacement, reduction, and refinement of animal experimentation. The 3R Center is located at the Swedish Board of Agriculture and has the National Committee for the Protection of Animals Used for Scientific Purposes as its steering group.
The National Committee has now decided on the 3R Center's work plan for 2025. The plan includes initiatives aimed at the following target groups
- Animal Welfare Bodies
- governmental agencies
- research funding bodies
- researchers – with a focus on doctoral students
- animal technicians
- designated veterinarians and persons responsible for animal care and welfare, information and education.
For some of these target groups, the Center has ongoing initiatives and organises activities every year. These efforts will continue in 2025. The Center will also continue to disseminate information about the 3Rs through webinars, newsletters and on LinkedIn.
Some examples of specific initiatives included in the work plan for 2025 are
- a webinar series on methods that can replace animal experiments in various disease areas, organised together with other 3Rs Centers
- educational material about the 3Rs for doctoral students
- a guidance document on behavioural tests.
